Travel job activity declines
The number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs has fallen back to its lowest level in 16 months, according to C&M Travel Recruitment data.
April’s total was down by 41% from March and was the lowest since December 2021.
Last month’s number was down by nearly half on April 2019.
After reaching a five-year high in March, the number of new candidates also dipped in April.
Last month’s total was 38% lower than the previous month, but remained up by 10% from April 2022.
New vacancies also dipped.
They decreased to their lowest level since December.
April’s total was down by 49%.
Barbara Kolosinska, MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “April was the slowest month for travel recruitment that we have seen for some time.”
“Much of this downturn can be attributed to Easter, which appeared to have a larger impact on activity.”
“After a historic year for travel recruitment, 2023 has had a much more mixed start.”
