Travel job vacancies, candidates up in December
The number of new candidates searching for travel jobs rose by 22% in December 2023 to reach the highest December total since 2017.
The latest travel job market data from C&M Travel Recruitment found it was up by 31% from December 2019.
There was also a 45% rise in the number of new travel job vacancies compared to the same month last year.
However, the traditional festive period slowdown in activity led vacancies to dip by 38%.
As is normal for the period, the last month of the year also saw a fall in the number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs.
Barbara Kolosinska, MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “Always the quietest month of the year, December 2023 didn’t buck the trend.”
“Still, it was far from the slowest December we’ve seen in recent years, with encouraging numbers of new candidates and travel job vacancies.”
