Travel Partners and athlete Pat Farmer run for peace in Middle East
Travel Partners joined up with Australian endurance runner and multiple world record holder Pat Farmer to help highlight peace and understanding in the Middle East, during a 20-day run from Lebanon to Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
Farmer was accompanied by Travel Partners managing partner Jeff Hakim, himself born in the Middle East, on the Beersheva-Tel Aviv leg of the run and the company also hosted a reception for Pat in Ashkelon, Israel.
Travel Partners also joined Pat during a visit to a local school in Haifa, Israel, where they were warmly welcomed by Arab and Israeli children studying together.
"For a lone Australian like Pat to get involved at a grass roots level to help bring peace to the Middle East is simply admirable and it was something Travel Partners and I knew we had to get behind 100%," said Jeff Hakim.
Hakim believes the travel industry can play a significant role in bringing about change and stability in regions blighted by conflict and political tensions.
"While we can’t afford to contribute to all of them, we do hope more organizations in travel will get behind such peace causes to bring as much relief as possible to the affected people in this and other regions around the world," he said.
Travel Partners works with experienced travel consultants and agencies, providing a seamless operating platform and technology tools to conduct their businesses more competitively.
