Travel shares feel the heat

Yesterday was a largely-disappointing day for travel and tourism shares as London’s main equity indices lost ground.

 

The FTSE 100 index dropped 23.5 points to close at 4314.4, while the FTSE 250 lost 51.9 points to end the day at 5834.4. Among the biggest movers were: British Airways, which lost 7.5p to close at 205.5p; lastminute.com, down 4p to 94.5p – its 12-month low; and Ryanair, which dropped 10.375p to end the day at 269.75p.
