Travel technology firm to take on more staff

Saturday, 17 Oct, 2013 0

Internet technology travel provider Traveltek is to take on 20 new recruits in addition to the 40 additional staff appointed earlier this year.

The company, which is aiming to double staff and revenues in 2014, said the additional recruits will be made up of development resource, analysts, project managers, account management and international sales positions.

"Since the launch of Traveltek’s iCruise selling system we have seen tremendous growth as many of the UK’s major cruise retailers adopt the system," said chief executive Kenny Picken.

Its system was adopted last year by CLIA to train new recruits, he said.

Peter Whittle, Traveltek’s director of global sales added: "Whilst cruise has very much assisted our growth, we have an overall demand for the Traveltek iSell system and have scored major client wins across the world, including Virgin Holiday Cruises, a very significant and successful distribution partnership with Travelport GDS and also going live this month one of the USA’s major travel retailers, Liberty Travel with a full product suite.

"We are literally servicing client enquiries from all over the world, including China, Russia, the Middle East, Asia and South America in addition to our current reach, which is very exciting."
