New figures released from the Office for National Statistics show that more overseas visitors are coming to the UK and Brits are taking more trips abroad and spending more money.
In the three months May to July, there was a 10% rise in overseas residents to 7.7 million, compared to February to April. These figures have been seasonally adjusted.
And a healthy 6% increase in UK resident visits abroad over the same time periods saw 14.1 million take a trip overseas, spending 4% more.
However, the ONS says that disruption to air travel because of the ash cloud must be taken into further consideration here.
