Travelsphere opts for Amadeus
Leading direct-sell operator Travelsphere Holdings has switched GDSs to Amadeus.
The parent company of Travelsphere Holidays and Page & Moy has consolidated with the European GDS having previously used both Sabre and Galileo for its air and cruise bookings.
Travelsphere Holdings claims annual turnover of £175 million, carrying 250,000 passengers on escorted tours and cruises.
David Clemson, deputy managing director of Travelsphere Holidays said: “Amadeus is providing flexible and efficient systems which help us deliver a quality service to our customers.
“As a significant player in the distribution of cruise product, we required a robust system to allow us to operate in the most efficient way for reservations and Amadeus is supplying a tried and tested solution that works for us.
“Following our acquisition of Page & Moy, Amadeus was able to deliver a solution that fitted our strategy for aligning systems and processes across the group. We are confident that the ongoing investment Amadeus is making to its systems will allow us as a customer to drive a greater level of productivity across our businesses.”
Amadeus UK managing director Stephane Durand added: “This new signing further increases Amadeus’ UK presence in the leisure travel sector.
“We firmly believe that Amadeus has the most agency-friendly solutions, and this significant new client win is evidence of that fact. Amadeus Vista and Amadeus Cruise are extremely easy-to-learn sales tools that offer the best productivity gains of any application for travel professionals currently in the market.”
