Travelzoo UK claims 300% surge in web traffic
First time users have help generate a surge in demand for www.Travelzoo.co.uk in the past month.
The company claimed a 300% rise in traffic in the 30 days ending September 14, compared with the previous month, with the site generating more than 500,000 visits.
Travelzoo UK also added 11 new travel companies to its advertising base in the past two months including Barcelo Hotels & Resorts, easyCruise, easyHotel, First Choice, Flight Centre, Icelandair, Short Breaks, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Thomson Holidays, Travelocity.co.uk and TUI. The site now has 26 advertisers since launching in the UK in May.
The increase in visits to Travelzoo UK is attributed to the growing number of first-time users resulting from a brand awareness campaign as well as the ongoing interest of repeat visitors.
Managing director Chris Loughlin said: “Travel companies and consumers have quickly recognized the value of Travelzoo UK’s thoroughly researched, quality travel recommendations.
“In addition, travel companies are beginning to leverage our global reach. For example, four UK clients have advertised in our US publications. Conversely, three Travelzoo UK clients came to us as a result of referrals from their US subsidiaries.”
