TravMedia launches media marketplace
TravMedia will launch the first International Media Marketplace (IMM) in Australia, bringing together top-flight Australian and international media with key tourism destinations and brands for a full-day exhibition-style event.
This follows the success of TravMedia’s inaugural International Media Marketplace at The Dorchester in London, which attracted a sellout 88 exhibitors, and 250 registered media.
TravMedia is joining forces in Australia with Destination Partners, Tourism and Events Queensland and Brisbane Marketing, and event sponsor, Hilton Worldwide, in presenting IMM on May 3 at the Hilton Brisbane.
IMM will allow exhibitors to showcase and promote their product to media from across a broad-range of spectrums, including editors, columnists, bloggers and photographers.
Exhibitors at IMM will have dedicated tables and a floorplan will be promoted ahead of the event to media and included in the official show program.
The media will be able to pre-schedule appointments or meet up with exhibitors of choice at the event .
Following IMM, media will be invited to join trips showcasing Brisbane and a variety of Queensland travel destinations.
TravMedia has for the past four years worked with the U.S. Travel Association on media activity at International Pow Wow and more recently has been directly involved with the Society of American Travel Writers’ Annual Conferences.
TravMedia’s CEO and founder, Nick Wayland said the response to the London event at The Dorchester on March 4 had been "overwhelming" with the media and exhibitors "strongly endorsing this new style of industry event".
