TSA expects record 107 million Spring Break travelers

The Transportation Security Administration is gearing up for a record Spring Break season, and expects to screen about 107 million passengers.

That is about 3% up on last year’s period, which this year runs from March 14 through April 28.

"As we enter the busy Spring Break travel period, our officers remain committed to ensuring the highest level of security for the traveling public," said TSA Administrator David Pekoske.

"We’re working alongside our airport, airline and industry partners every day to improve the traveling experience."

The agency is urging travelers to be fully prepared and arrive at least two hours before flight departure time and three hours ahead of international flights.

Also, they should be aware of the usual protocols regarding what not to bring, by using the TSA’s online What Can I Bring?" tool, know the limits for liquids, and have a valid ID and boarding pass readily available to speed up screening.
