TUI Travel appoints e-commerce director
TUI Travel has named Sandra Leonhard as its new director of web strategy and business development.
Leonhard, who joined Thomson seven years ago following eCommerce roles at BMW/Rover Group and Renault, will head up e-commerce activity within the group and drive volume to online channels, both incremental and from traditional channels.
She will also be responsible for increasing sales revenue via ancillary products.
TUI said Leonhard’s key focus would be on “further development of web platforms and applications which make inventory available to TUI businesses (hotels, car hire, content, flights and travel extras), creating efficiencies from aligning contracting activity, improvements around usability, web conversion, commercial steering and traffic generation”.
Her new position is a TUI Travel group corporate role, which looks globally across the business, but also involves overseeing web development for the UK source market.
Graham Donoghue continues to sit on the TUI Travel UK Board and is responsible for determining the mainstream UK web strategy.
