TUI Travel UK unveils new distribution structure
A new distribution structure for the merged TUI/First Choice businesses has been finalised under TUI Travel UK distribution director Derek Jones.
Former First Choice Retail managing director Cheryl Powell has moved into a new role as managing director of Sunsail Clubs.
“There are currently no plans to replace Cheryl,” the company said.
“The new structure reflects the company’s plans to operate two brands on the high street and overseas.”
No mention was made on the impact on jobs further down the chain as part of the integration of the two companies.
Rad Sofronijevic, director of retail sales and operations (First Choice) and Kathryn Ward, director of retail sales and operations (Thomson) will continue to lead the retail sales teams for Thomson and First Choice.
They will be “working closely together to identify best practice synergies between the two retail operations,” a statement said.
Sales director Natalie Hufton will be responsible for all distribution commercial teams including retail marketing, third party suppliers and foreign exchange.
Max Mason, formerly First Choice head of sales will report to Hufton and will lead the third party sales for both Thomson and First Choice.
Linda Addy becomes director of property for the joint management team and be responsible for managing all group properties including the retail estate. She will also lead the team providing facilities management services for all sites, including managing supplier contracts for the group. Graeme Ferguson, head of property for First Choice Retail, will remain in the property team reporting to Addy.
Helen Deegan, head of distribution integration, will continue in her role, leading the integration of the distribution division.
Roy Myhill remains as managing director of Flexi, heading Flexi Travel as an independent business unit.
Lorraine Dempsey is head of call centres and virtual call centres, responsible for all sales call centres within First Choice and Thomson. Julia Sockett, head of call centre operations (previously First Choice), reports to Dempsey.
