Tunisia reschedules cancelled conference
Tunisia has rescheduled a conference that was cancelled due to political unrest earlier this year.
The National Forum on Tunisian Tourism Strategy, Vision 2016 had been due to take place in February but tourist officials decided to postpone it amid political problems.
It was originally postponed until late March but will now take place on May 9.
TravelMole had been invited to the event, which was due to see Tunisia officially unveil its tourism promotion strategy for the next three years.
Hosted by Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Elyes Fakhfakh, the forum was due to be attended by a thousand participants, including government members, professionals, representatives of funding institutions, civil society and associations of development and promotion of sustainable tourism.
Tunisia’s political problems escalated in February after the resignation of its Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali.
He resigned after failing to reach agreement on forming a new coalition government in response to the political crisis sparked by the killing of opposition leader Chokri Belaid.
