Turkey on your travel menu?
Imaginative travelers are increasingly looking to Turkey as a destination, which TripAdvisor includes in its “Top Five World Destinations” for next year.
“According to research by the travel company — which logged search activity, comment posts and included a survey — Patara in Turkey is an emerging hotspot for travelers,” the site says.
Patara lies in the Lycian region of the country and offers visitors the chance to take advantage of a stunning landscape, which incorporates beaches — attracting Loggerhead Turtles between May and October — and the Taurus Mountains, according to Patarainfo.com.
It is not the first time that Turkey has been touted as a top destination, as FairFX.com recently commented that the favorable exchange rate between the pound and Turkish lira makes the country a positive place to visit.
The location that came to the top of TripAdvisor’s list was Troncones in Mexico, which, according to Lonely Planet, boasts "unspoiled beaches, relaxing atmosphere and world-class surfing".
Other TripAdvisor destinations included were Nairn in Scotland, Patagonia’s El Chalten and Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany.
