Turkish carrier to allow UK-bound passengers to keep laptops until boarding
Turkish airline Atlasglobal is to allow passengers on its flights to London to keep their electronic devices in hand luggage until they board the aircraft, rather than forcing them to pack them in their check-in bags.
It said it will comply with the new UK ban on personal electronics such as laptops in cabins on flights from Turkey by taking them from passengers as they board.
They will then be kept in a special, secure bag and delivered to passengers after landing, it said.
The airline, which is one of several to be affected by the ban which was introduced on flights to the UK from five destinations in the Middle East and North Africa as well as Turkey, operates flights from Istanbul to Stansted
It said it was allowing passengers to keep their devices until they board to minimise inconvenience to customers.
