TV hypnotist makes Thomas Cook passengers love flying again

Thomas Cook Airlines has partnered with TV hypnotist and mind-reader Aaron Calvert to help people ‘fall in love again’ with flying.

It comes after research found 35% of Brits say they’ve fallen out of love with air travel and 55% feel that flying is a means to an end.

This is despite the fact that 17% say their first flight experience is one of their top 10 life experiences and 28% saying they wish they could experience the first flight feeling again.

In an experiment, five adults were told they were being filmed for a documentary on being a first-time flyer before being taken through the airport and onto the plane, where they believed they were boarding an A321 for the very first time.

They spent eight hours under hypnosis and experienced every element of air travel as if for the first time.

"It’s been really eye-opening," said Calvert.

"These guys absolutely believe this is their first flight. And what’s amazing is the simplest things are bringing such joy. They looked out of a window, saw a plane and couldn’t believe the size of it or that it could actually take off. There was an almost childlike excitement to their constant questions."

Ironically, the partnership was announced as 320 Thomas Cook passengers suffered a two-day flight delay on their way back from Cancun in Mexico. What a shame Calvert wasn’t able to use his hypnotist skills to help ease their pain.
