U by Uniworld ditches millennials only requirement
Even before it officially launches U by Uniworld has made a U-turn.
Originally devised as a river cruise line dedicated to millennials only, it has now removed that age restriction and is now open to all adult cruisers.
While it has scrapped the 21 to 45 only age barrier the ‘sexy, stylish ships’ remain with its youthful décor and amenities like communal spaces and a top deck lounge.
"Originally, U was very specific in defining its target market, but has learned that the experience is less about a number and more about attracting a new generation of adult travelers to river cruising," the line said.
"Removing the gated age restriction will not change the product or our efforts to attract a new generation of adult travelers."
The two 120-passenger ships, The A and The B, will sail itineraries on the Seine, the Rhine and the Danube, beginning in April.
