UK cruise industry conference confirmed

Wednesday, 16 Sep, 2005 0

The first UK cruise conference designed to raise the profile of the sector is to take place next month.

The ‘Cruise to Success’ event is being organised by voluntary marketing group CruiseUK with VisitBritain and will be held in Cardiff on October 20.

The conference aims to provide the British cruise industry with a platform for discussion and networking around the fastest growing leisure travel sector, according to the organisers.

Topics include the future of cruise shipping and its impact on the British cruise population and consumer influences upon the choice of cruise and its impact on marketing. Presentations will be followed by a question and answer session. The afternoon will include a case study from CruiseWales.

CruiseUK project director Jeremy Brinkworth said: “While the UK cruise market grew by a healthy 9% this year, CruiseUK are convinced that by working together we can gain a greater share of the cruise market for Britain. The ‘Cruise to Success’ conference is an important milestone in reaching this goal.”
