Global 10 Year Framework of Programmes Meeting – Synthesis Report released

The 1st Global Stakeholder Meeting of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP) took place at the UN Headquarters in New York City on 14-15 May 2015, gathering more than 100 participants from governments, inter-governmental organisations and all sectors of society from all regions.

It was organized in conjunction with the 4th 10YFP Board meeting and 2nd 10YFP Stakeholder Focal Points meeting.

The meeting was funded by the European Commission and Norway.

Three years after the adoption of the 10YFP, the objectives of the 1st Global Meeting of the 10YFP included:

  • Illustrate and explore the universal nature and added value of shifting towards sustainable consumption and production for the achievement of sustainable development;
  • Promote the 10YFP as an implementation mechanism
  • Explore the capacity of the 10YFP the shift to sustainable consumption and production
  • Identify joint work areas and potentially transformative, large-scale projects and initiatives spanning more than one 10YFP programme.
