United revenue up, sees improved summer demand
United Airlines reported a rise in revenue for Q2 2025, citing a recovery in demand and better on-time performance.
It is positive for the summer period with ‘less geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty,’ it says.
Total operating revenue reached $15.2 billion in Q2 as it expanded seat capacity by nearly 6%.
The airline said revenue grew by 5.6% in Premium cabin sales while loyalty program revenue was up by 8.7%.
The airline reported a net income of $1 billion for Q2, with adjusted net income at $1.3 billion.
“The world is less uncertain today than it was during the first six months of 2025 and that gives us confidence about a strong finish to the year,” said United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby.
Since the beginning of July 2025, United has experienced a significant increase in both overall and business travel demand, it says.
In Q2, United said it had the highest rate of on-time departures and the lowest seat cancellation rates among airlines.
The airline restarts nonstop flights to Tel Aviv on July 21, 2025.
