Universal Studios Beijing opens
Twenty years after the project was first proposed, Universal has opened its fifth and largest theme park in Beijing. The first day was a sell-out at Universal Studios Beijing with all 10,000 tickets being snapped up in advance in a matter of minutes.
The current capacity is capped at 10,000 and all visitors must don masks. It features themed attractions from the Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Minions and Transformers franchises. The theme park is a joint venture between NBCUniversal and state-owned Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment, which owns a 70% stake.
