Unruly passenger opens exit door, goes down emergency slide
An unruly passenger was cuffed and detained after causing chaos on a plane about to depart from Los Angeles International Airport.
The man ran down the aisle to an exit door which he then opened, despite orders from a flight attendant.
He then jumped out of the emergency slide which had deployed.
“Flight attendants tried to stop him but he deployed the slide and jumped out,” a passenger tweeted.
He was described as ‘nervous or freaked out about something.’
Los Angeles Airport Police were called and detained the man.
The FBI were also involved.
With the slide deployed all passengers were deplaned and put on a replacement aircraft for their flight to Seattle.
Police said he was taken to a local hospital for ‘mental evaluation.’
It is not the first incident of this kind at LAX.
