US daily passenger traffic up to nearly one million
US air passenger traffic is gradually edging toward the one-million mark.
The Transportation Security Administration screened 984,234 travelers on 11 October, the highest daily number since mid-March.
A similar number traveled on 9 October making it the busiest travel weekend for seven months.
However it is still some way off normal passenger traffic numbers.
On the same day last year 2.5 million travelers passed though TSA checkpoints.
With four consecutive days of more than 900,000 travelers, it is still an encouraging sign after several weeks when the number of daily travelers has been relatively stagnant.
