In a move reflecting an emerging travel market, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) launched its first Spanish language Web site designed specifically for visitors from Mexico.
Mexico now sends 9.8 million visitors to US destinations each year, and projections are for a 21% increase in US visitation by 2006.
In the past three years, nonstop and direct air service to Las Vegas from Mexico has tripled, according to the LVCVA. There are now up to 50 seasonal and regularly scheduled flights from Las Vegas to Mexico.
The Web site will have various information including the latest in golf, shopping, entertainment, lodging, spas and dining. It will also have travel tips such as the state’s legal drinking age and contact information.
For the travel industry, there are listings with contact information for travel agents and tour operators in Mexico and Web site links to airlines that fly from Mexico to Las Vegas.
