Vib brand to debut in Southeast Asia with Ventiane signing

Best Western Hotels & Resorts is bringing its urban boutique brand Vib to Southeast Asia with plans to debut in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

The 70-room new-build hotel is expected to open in 2018 and will be located centrally close to popular tourist attractions such as the night market, Lao National Museum and Black Stupa.

"When we first revealed the Vib concept to the world earlier this year, it was clear that this unique, contemporary product would work extremely well in Southeast Asia," said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western managing director of international operations in Asia.

"It is extremely exciting that we have signed our first Vib hotel in the region, and there could not be a better setting for it than Vientiane – an exciting up-and-coming regional hub.

The hotel will feature Vib signature amenities including a social lobby area, a ‘grab n’ go’ snack station, and a ‘Zen Zone’ relaxation room.

Best Western already has a presence in the city with the Best Western Ventiane Hotel.

According to the company’s senior vice president of brand management Ron Pohl, there are nine Vib hotels under development with ‘active discussions with a dozen others.’

"We are delighted to have signed our first Vib hotel in Southeast Asia, and I am confident this marks the start of a strong regional roll-out for the brand," Pohl added.
