Villa Select sold for £2.5m
Luxury villas operator Villa Select has been sold to Western & Oriental for almost £2.5 million.
The Warwickshire-based company, established in 1983 by Roger and Pamela Ball, offers 190 villas in seven Mediterranean destinations.
The couple are to retire with Roager Ball remaining as a consultant for 12 months to assist with the integration of the business and villa contracting for 2009.
Villa Select claims a 60% repeat booking record and achieved sales of £5.8 million on the year to October 31, 2006.
W&O said the acquisition would provide “an excellent platform from which to build a significant villa product through a number of initiatives”.
The group’s chairman David Howell said: “Villa Select has grown successfully over the last 24 years and we are looking forward to growing the business further into a significant European villa programme which we believe will appeal to our growing customer base.”
