Vinet concentrates on Caribbean
Vinet Global in the US is now concentrating on tour operators selling Caribbean packages, according to Donald White, director of sales and marketing. He told TravelMole: “The Caribbean has always been a popular market, but security interests have made it even more popular. The tourists are sometimes going there instead of to Europe. It’s become an even hotter market.” A second reason, he said, is the way Vinet sells its product. “Our model fits the way they sell packages there. A trip usually involves round- trip air, one hotel, and one transfer to and from the airport,” he said. “Other options are available, but this is the greater part of what tour operators offer,” he added. Vinet Global is a provider of next generation technology solutions for the tour operation and travel agency industries. It was established in 1998 by a group from both IT and the travel industry. Mr White said the company provides a direct choice for travel industry people who might otherwise go to a larger company, major provider such as Orbus. “We provide an alternative to the larger companies because we’re not as structured as they are. Our technology is the same, if not better than theirs. We are more flexible and able to work with individual clients. Our turnaround time is quick, and our costing is less,” he said. –Report by David Wilkening–
