Passengers flying with Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand will have more flexibility on routes following an agreement between the two airlines to codeshare.
The two airlines already have a good relationship, with a reciprocal deal on frequent flyer miles and Air New Zealand Business Premier Cabin using a version of Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class Suite.
The new agreement will mean passengers can book with Virgin Atlantic to travel on connecting journeys on these Air New Zealand routes:
Los Angeles – Rarotonga
San Francisco – Auckland
Sydney – Auckland
Sydney – Christchurch
Sydney – Wellington
Auckland – Christchurch
Auckland – Wellington
Auckland –Queenstown
Auckland – Rarotonga
Meanwhile Air New Zealand passengers can book on Virgin Atlantic’s services between London Heathrow and San Francisco and between Hong Kong and Sydney for connecting journeys using Air New Zealand’s NZ flight code.
The codeshare will start on February 28, once government approvals have been granted.
