Virgin Blue aims high for US route
Reports today suggest Virgin Blue will spend about $70 million in its bid to launch flights to the US.
But the low-cost airline yesterday admitted the process had been delayed because it was still waiting for approval from US authorities for daily flights.
Virgin CEO Brett Godfrey said he was still planning for trans-Pacific services to start in early 2008.
“We want to come up with something that’s a little bit different, but we also want to make a bit of money,” Mr Godfrey said.
“When we find the right product then we’ll put it to the board.”
