Virgin mulls offer to shady ladies
Virgin Atlantic is looking into making the best-seller trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James available for passengers to enjoy as an audio book during flights.
The book’s saucy content has caused controversy since it first went on sale and the airline wants fliers to experience it aurally at 35,000ft.
The book centres on Anastasia Steele, a virgin who meets a wealthy businessman with particular tastes in the bedroom.
It has sold more than 20 million copies.
Virgin Atlantic head of PR, Fay Burgin, said, "Fifty Shades of Grey has quickly gained notoriety as a naughty novel, leaving some women embarrassed reading their copy in a public space.
"We want to give our female passengers the chance to enjoy the book in an intimate way, away from prying eyes."
Audio books will be another new feature of JAM – Virgin Atlantic’s new inflight entertainment system.
It features a touch-screen control panel allowing passengers instant access to more than 300 hours of entertainment.
