Virgin Voyages compensates cruisers impacted by Venezuela military action
Virgin Voyages has started issuing full future voyage credits for guests who were unable to meet their planned departure in the Caribbean.
Airspace restrictions due to military action in Venezuela over the weekend have disrupted flights to and from the US to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Virgin’s Valiant Lady departed.
“Local port authorities have advised that airspace over Puerto Rico is temporarily closed for all US airlines due to military activity. This is impacting flights operated by US airlines flying into and out of San Juan,” Virgin said at the weekend.
“We understand that ongoing flight disruptions may prevent some Sailors from joining us for our departure. They will receive a full future voyage credit to use on a future Virgin Voyages sailing.”
Valient Lady’s week-long sailing has dropped calls at Aruba and Curaçao, which are located close to the Venezuela coast.
The January 3 voyage is now set to call at Barbados and St. Lucia instead.
