Visit Florida extension get first Senate approval
State tourism and marketing agency Visit Florida has passed the first hurdle to be reauthorized for the next decade. The Senate Committee in the State Capitol gave tentative approval for an extension until 2031.
Its current authorization lasts until 2022. It was supported by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, which said the agency had been heavily involved in the state’s tourism recovery.
Visit Florida was close to being disbanded in 2019, but was extended until 2022 when the pandemic hit.
