Sir Michael Lickiss, chairman of VisitBritain – the organisation responsible for marketing Britain overseas and England to the British – will be guest of honour at a reception to officially mark the launch of VisitGuernsey on 14th May. Industry and political representatives will also be attending the event. Sir Michael said “I am delighted to be returning to the island as the industry starts to prepare for the summer season and will be able to view first hand what makes Guernsey such a popular destination. As well as being able to focus on tourism issues and developments in the area, I am looking forward to re-familiarising myself with the place of my birth”. Stuart Pinnell, Chief Executive of VisitGuernsey commented “We are honoured to have Sir Michael attending the launch. I believe this is a clear reflection of Guernsey’s excellent working relationship with VisitBritain in the UK domestic market and as part of their promotions in destinations further afield”. – Ends –
