Volaris launching Costa Rica flights
Mexican low cost airline Volaris will launch two new routes to Costa Rica beginning September 10.
Twice weekly flights will serve Costa Rica’s capital city, San Jose from Cancun and Guadalajara.
Both routes will run Thursdays and Sundays and Volaris has launched introductory one way fares of $119 to Cancun and $129 to Guadalajara to kick off the new services.
"We are extremely proud to announce flights to Costa Rica, a destination special not only as a natural and adventure tourism location, but also for history and cultural heritage," said Volaris CEO, Enrique Beltranena.
"Two new services plus our innovative business framework make visiting Costa Rica easier than ever for our customers in Mexico."
Last week Volaris took delivery of its second Airbus A321 aircraft, and is the first carrier in Mexico to fly the planes.
"This is a significant step for our airline’s growth," Beltranena said.
The carrier currently operates an average 220 flights a day and serves 22 US cities.
