Wales gets PR boost from Obama
Welsh tourism has been given a PR boost with President Barack Obama declaring ‘everyone should visit Wales’.
The US President was visiting along with 60 world leaders as part of the 2014 Nato Summit and attended a reception at Celtic Manor in Newport held by Prince Charles to promote Wales.
When asked what it was like to be the first US president in office to come to Wales, Obama said he was having a great time and that everyone should visit Wales, reports the Daily Mail.
Guests at the reception were entertained by the Prince of Wales’s official harpist, Hannah Stone, along with the orchestra of the Welsh National Opera and students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Parts of Wales were in lock down and many shops in Cardiff were closed yesterday as security was tightened for visiting dignitaries.
