Weak dollar leading to changed travel plans
Sixty-seven percent of US travelers headed for Europe are changing their plans due to the weak dollar, according to TripAdvisor.
Nearly 60% said they planned a shorter stay in Europe; 65% said they will shop less; 60% planned to dine more modestly; and 59% planned to stay in more modest hotels.
TripAdvisor provides travel information and recommends destinations on the Web.
The company recently introduced a hotel selection tool that allows travelers to easily view the most popular hotels by price, as well as neighborhood and number of stars awarded to them.
TripAdvisor contains more than 1.5 million reviews and opinions covering nearly 200,000 hotels and attractions. The site gets more than 1.3 million monthly visitors.
