Web firm lets you speak to ‘real people’
A guide to help consumers circumvent time-consuming and frustrating computerised answering systems and gain faster access to “real people” over the telephone has been introduced by Cheapflights.
Users of the Cheapflights.co.uk website can now click to gain telephone access to 20 airlines tour operators and hotel groups.
A new tab can be accessed by navigating in from the price comparison company’s home page “travel tips” section or by entering http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/travel-tips/cheatsheet.html on an internet browser.
CEO David Soskin said: “Cheapflights believes that, despite the increasing use of the internet, there are times when customers will need to talk to a real person.
“We have all been frustrated and annoyed by automated telephone systems. We have accordingly compiled a ‘Cheat Sheet’ to help consumers to speak to a real-live-person asap when calling. Our ‘Cheat Sheet’ comprises most of the leading UK travel companies.”
He added: “Following an informal meeting in the US with technology guru Paul English late last year we were inspired by his radical and original idea to publish an online guide how to beat the automated voice response systems at a number of top US companies.
“We have historically provided a wealth of useful travel information as well as publishing travel companies’ best deals. We therefore decided to provide UK travel consumers with a similar telephone ‘Cheat Sheet’ for top UK travel companies and are very pleased now to launch this further consumer resource on our sites.”
