Wendy Wu gives cash bonus to staff
Staff at Wendy Wu Tours have each been given a cash bonus after the China specialist smashed its 2016 total year’s revenue in under two months.
Each employee was given a traditional Chinese gift of a red envelope with £50 inside as a thank you.
"I wanted to thank every member of the team for their contribution to our record start to the year. Our entire team work so hard, so there’s no better celebration than a big thank you with a red envelope for everyone," said Wendy Wu, founder and chairperson
The envelopes were handed out on the same day as Wendy Wu Tours launched its new look website.
"This is the first step of our online transformation. Our technology team are now concentrating on the more important task of our agent booking platform, which will go live in one month," said Joe Karbo, Group CEO, Wendy Wu Tours.
Last week, the operator announced its managing director Laurence Hicks has decided to step down.
Hicks, who rejoined Wendy Wu Tours five years ago after an earlier stint in 2008/9, will stay on until March 20 and then will undertake some special projects for the business until April 20.
He told colleagues he was leaving to pursue ‘other somewhat more modest business interests’ and enjoy more quality time with his partner.
