Wholesalers cut commissions
Travel Corporation brands, Insight Vacations and Trafalgar Tours and competitor Globus have confirmed that they are cutting agents commission from 14% to 13%, but they both say that agents will not suffer as a result.
Attempting to stem rising distribution costs the wholesalers say that they remain committed to the trade, but they had no alternative due to rising costs.
Lorraine Sharp MD of Insight told The Mole that agents will earn more though because prices are going up.
John Boulding Global MD of Insight at a media lunch on Friday said that Insight remains at the upper end of commissions but that their commitment to the trade came with a price and that meant that commissions had to be cut.
