Why your clients should consider an apartment in London

With Cheval Serviced Apartment’s Thorney Court GM Malcolm Broadbent [pictured right with from left Lise Angus GM of Travel With Kidz and Sarah Whitty, Cheval’s Australian representative] visiting Sydney this week on a sales trip, The Mole was reminded how a serviced luxury apartment has become an excellent and very viable alternative to the traditional London hotel.

While renowned sometimes for quality hotel rooms, London in general, is not renowned for the size of hotel rooms, with the first dilemma on arrival often being where to put your suitcase, with little room between the bed and furnishings!

None of that with Cheval and pictured right is a bedroom at Cheval’s Gloucester Park, where I stayed alst week  – please note that is one bedroom, I also had another huge bedroom, with two single beds, a massive lounge, a very well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms, both with baths and showers – now isn’t that what every Aussie needs when staying in London!

Speaking of showers…….for years we had to put up with pathetic UK showers which I described as being similar to the UK weather – a weak drizzle, but there was none of that at Gloucester Park, with the Cheval power shower providing what is without question from my pretty extensive experience the most powerful shower I have ever experienced anywhere in the world!!

Besides the apartment itself which was awesome and the highly trained staff, the other thing that really impressed me about arriving in my Cheval apartment was the the massive welcome hamper in the kitchen which containeda top quality selection of food from British producers, including in the fridge, Duchy Multiseed Bread, organic free-range eggs; Anchor free-range butter; orange juice and Highland Water.

The Cheval Welcome Hamper contained UK produce including sour cream, dill and mustard Yorkshire crisps, beetroot pickle and caramelised shallot pickle from the Isle of Wight, Carr’s Melts wheaten biscuits, rich fruit cake from Devon, Brownes handmade chocolates from Devon, Walkers Scottish shortbread fingers, Atkins & Potts strawberry and balsamic preserve, Atkins & Potts Marlborough marmalade, Pertwood organic granola sultanas and nuts from Wiltshire, Tea Forté English breakfast tea, Tea Forté Peppermint, lemon and green tea and Paddy & Scotts Fair Trade coffee.

A mini London A-Z is also included, plus a teddy bear for guests arriving with children!

Gloucester Park’s 100 contemporary-style apartments feature fully equipped top-of-the-range kitchens, dining areas, en-suite bedrooms, study areas, and stylish living rooms and guests are provided with an authentic home from home experience, plus the added benefit of an excellent 24-hour concierge desk, in-house maintenance and daily maid service.

Flat screen televisions, digital telephones, DVD players, stereos, and wireless broadband are all standard.

The apartments at Gloucester Park are priced from £1,230 per week, excluding VAT…..now compare that with comparable London hotels and remember that your stay can include a family!

Cheval Group is London’s market leader in luxury serviced apartments and is privately owned and operated, with 25 years of experience in providing luxury serviced apartments.
