Wizz Air to relaunch flights from Doncaster Sheffield Airport today
Wizz Air will relaunch its operation from Doncaster Sheffield Airport tomorrow with flights to Riga, Krakow, Vilnius and Bucharest.
The airline is the biggest at Doncaster, from where it has operated since 2006.
The airport said it expects Wizz to relaunch flights to more destinations as the government and Foreign and Commonwealth Office relax travel restrictions.
Director of operations Dee Thomas said: "Wizz is a valued partner of Doncaster Sheffield Airport and we are proud to be one of their UK bases. We celebrated four million passengers last year and look forward to welcoming many more now that operations have restarted."
DSA has remained open during the coronavirus pandemic, continuing its freight activities, but Wizz Air passengers will be the first to return to the airport, followed by TUI passengers on August 1.
