World’s longest non-stop flight more comfortable than you thought
Travel writer Wendy Perrin found the world’s largest regularly scheduled non-stop airline flight to be, well, comfortable may be the right word.
The Newark Liberty-Singapore Changi International flight is just under 19 hours long or 18 hours and 50 minutes, if it’s on time.
“But it hardly feels that way, thanks to 30-inch seats that convert into comfy 76-inch-long-lie-flat beds and personal TV screens with about a thousand different entertainment options, “ she writes.
She took the trip to write about it in Conde Nast Traveler.
So she concludes the flight, costing up to US$8,000, “will spoil you rotten and likely ruin all future airline travel for you.”
The longest flight brings up the question of the shortest: That’s a non-stop commercial flight on Scotland’s Loganair from the island of Westray to Papa Westray, a mere two minutes (no beverage service), according to a site called Gadling.
