Worldspan postpones IPO
Worldspan tersely cited “market conditions” as reasons why it was postponing its previously announced initial public offering of common stock.
But the company added it “may proceed with a public offering at a later date”.
Worldspan also announced its online agencies in North America as of 1 July have joined traditional agencies in full access of Delta Air Lines’ fare data.
That will include all publicly available fares and web fares primarily available at delta.com, the airline’s Online Agency Service Center and third-party Web sites.
Online travel agencies in North America powered by the Worldspan GDS can now offer Delta Air Lines’ full fare content, including web fares.
The agreement offers added convenience and flexibility for fares, according to Pam Elledge, director, business development and strategic planning for Delta.
She said: “This agreement supports a key business objective to reduce distribution costs while at the same time builds on our ongoing strategic partnership with Worldspan.”
