Young British girl killed by speedboat, police chief arrested

A police officer is in custody accused of causing the death of a young British girl in Albania.

British-born Jonada Avdia age 7, was struck by a speedboat driven by a local police commissioner.

The girl was in a safe area of Potami beach designated for swimming.

According to police, she wаs struck by outboard propellers that ‘caused serious injuries immediately resulting in loss of life.

According to witnesses Jonada’s distraught father confronted police commissioner Arjan Tase which descended into a brawl.

Tase wаs later detained by police and is now facing a manslaughter charge.

He is accused of ‘dangerous manoeuvres’.

Several police officers have been fired who were supposed to be on duty guarding the beach

It has reportedly caused outrage across the country with anti-police protests
