Natasha brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked both within and outside the travel industry in field-based sales and account management. Natasha began her career as a travel agent before moving into various field sales roles beyond the travel sector, where she honed her expertise in relationship building and client support. Most recently, she returned to the industry as Regional Sales Manager at Balkan Holidays. Commenting on the appointment, Alyshia Bartlett, Head of Retail, Homeworking, and Tour Operations at MSC Cruises, said: “Natasha will be a great asset to our team. Highlights of the new speciality dining experience include: One menu, one price: Guests will now be able to choose from a rich variety of dishes out of the full restaurant menu, for one fixed price. This not only provides greater variety but also greater value and transparency, making speciality restaurants more accessible to everyone. Menus will allow guests to choose at least one starter, one main and one dessert for a fixed fee. Menus will also offer extra-special dishes, such as Ozaki Wagyu beef, for a small supplement charge. This will take the number of ships in the class to six. They are currently being referred to as World Class 5 and 6 and are expected to be delivered for service in 2029 and 2030. They will be built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard and will be powered by alternative fuel sources including LNG. The 6,700-guests ships will join MSC World Europa and MSC World America, which have already launched, and MSC World Asia and MSC World Atlantic, which will be delivered over the next two years. “The confirmation for the two new World Class ships marks a new milestone and the continuation of our long-term industrial plan,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises. “The highly successful World Class platform combines the very best in environmental technology with the latest advancements in guest experiences.” The new ships will also have shore power plug-in capability and advanced wastewater treatment systems. -

The occasion was celebrated with the arrival of EXPLORA II. A commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Jose Antonio Santano Clavero, the Spanish government’s State Secretary for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, as well as cruise line and port officials. MSC Cruises executive chair Pierfrancesco Vago said, “Barcelona has been a strategic partner for MSC Group for more than four decades and our commitment is unwavering.” “The new terminal is not just an investment in modern port infrastructure but demonstrates that we are aligned with the city’s strategy for a more balanced and sustainable model of tourism.” The landmark terminal was designed by Catalonian architecture firm Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. It features a retail area, spacious waiting lounge with generous seating, and a VIP lounge for premium guests. Outside, ceramic cladding pays tribute to both the Gaudi-inspired artistic and maritime history of Barcelona. The cruise terminal incorporates energy-saving tech and sustainable materials. This includes solar panels and optimised natural light, along with a rainwater collection system to supply water for toilets and landscaped areas. Shore to ship power connectivity will be available in 2027 when docked ships can switch off their engines. This summer, MSC Cruises will have a choice of five ships offering embarkation in Barcelona - MSC World Europa, MSC Seaview, MSC Seaside, MSC Magnifica and MSC Orchestra. EXPLORA II will regularly call throughout the summer season with Barcelona as one of her main homeports. -
