Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that World of Hyatt members can now earn and redeem points for qualifying stays at the Hyatt-affiliated hotel. Phase one of the Las Vegas hotel's two-phase renovation is expected to be completed this fall. At that time, the reimagined all-suite hotel will move into Hyatt's Independent Collection under the Destination by Hyatt brand. "We're proud to collaborate with Rio Hotel & Casino on this transformational project to revitalize the iconic hotel," said David Tarr, SVP of development, Americas, Hyatt. "Destination by Hyatt hotels are individual at heart and Rio Hotel & Casino will be no exception.” Rio Hotel & Casino, owned and operated by Dreamscape, will mark the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada and the third Hyatt hotel in the Las Vegas area. Phase one renovations began in 2023 and are near completion with extensive upgrades to the 1,501-room Ipanema tower, arrival area, exterior, lobby, and gaming floor. The Las Vegas hotel’s food and beverage outlets, meeting spaces, and outdoor pool area will also be enhanced. Phase two will include a full renovation and redesign of the hotel's 1,012 Masquerade Tower guestrooms and associated public areas. "We are thrilled to welcome World of Hyatt members to the Rio Hotel & Casino as we embark on revitalizing this iconic Las Vegas landmark," said Eric Birmbaum founder of Dreamscape. Slated to open by the end of 2023, Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres will be located along a secluded strip of the Costa Mujeres shoreline. The addition of Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres will enhance the collection's offerings and provide guests with more Mexican vacation options. Guests will be able to enjoy water sports including snorkeling, kitesurfing, scuba diving and sport fishing. Two Be Live Hotels properties in the Dominican Republic, owned by Spanish hospitality company Globalia, will be renovated and transformed into Sunscape Resorts & Spas. The renovated hotels are expected to open in 2023, bolstering the family-friendly brand’s presence in the Caribbean. “This planned expansion of the Sunscape Resorts & Spas brand in the Caribbean marks an opportunity to broaden all-inclusive family-friendly offerings in a desirable market for global travelers. Hotel Toranomon Hills is located at the heart of Tokyo's business centre as part of the new Toranomon Hills Station Tower. It is expected to open in late 2023 with 205 rooms. It marks the second Unbound Collection hotel in Japan. “It will be a cosmopolitan focal point within Tokyo's newest business hub for international citizens," said Japan VP Sam Sakamura. The hotel's interiors are designed by Space Copenhagen, a top Danish design studio, marking its first project in Japan. The Tokyo hotel will have a signature restaurant, a café and bar on the first floor. The Toranomon Hills Station Tower development includes a rooftop garden, flowing streams and a swimming pool. Hotel Toranomon Hills will occupy part of the tower's first floor as well as its 11th to 14th floors. Hotel Toranomon Hills will mark the second Japan hotel in The Unbound Collection, joining Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoaka It joins 35 hotels within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand globally. -
