$500 million convention-related development announced
Plans were announced for Rosemont Walk, a $500 million mixed-use development adjacent to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center near O’Hare International Airport.
A 60-acre development will add 600,000 square feet of retail, office and entertainment space, and 1,000 hotel rooms. That will include a 525-room Le Meridien Chicago O’Hare with 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
Also part of the plans is Grizzly Falls Resort, a 400,000 square foot water park with a 400-room hotel and 72,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.
Local officials said the projects would open in phases over the next two years.
The existing convention center has 840,000 square feet of meeting space with one of the largest exhibit halls in the country.
