Atlanta offers world-class attractions, shopping and dining. The Georgia Coast awaits with cool, blue waters and soft sand beaches. Here we’ll highlight each of Georgia’s nine regions, beginning in the northwest and circling clockwise.
HISTORIC HIGH COUNTRY: Northwest Journey along the 150-mile Chieftains Trail, which leads through a number of sites that tell the story of the area’s rich Native American history and culture. In Cartersville, visit the Etowah Indian Mounds, which served as the ceremonial center for thousands of Native Americans who lived here more than 400 years ago.

Military Park features the 1847 Gordon Lee Mansion as well as numerous monuments, exhibits and trails. A seven-mile auto tour covers the park’s highlights.
Catch another glimpse into Civil War history at Lookout Mountain Battlefield and Point Park, where you’ll find sweeping vistas of the Chattanooga valley. Afterward, be sure to visit the area’s most famous attractions, Rock City Gardens and Ruby Falls.
