ABTA members told time to vote
ABTA members will be invited to vote for the next chairman of the Association next week.
Ballot papers will be sent to every member’s head office after June 6 and the deadline for voting is June 28.
The nominees for chairman are Roger Allard, executive chairman of All Leisure Holidays and Noel Josephides of Sunvil International Sales.
Both candidates have set out their personal views on what are the important issues and opportunities for the industry and for ABTA on the Association’s website.
Allard said he was keen to cut member’s costs, both for bonding and insurance, and reduce red tape.
"I want there to be more transparency and would like to see the ABTA Executive visiting the regions and encourage regional members to meet face to face with the Executive," he added.
Josephides said wants to see ABTA providing greater financial protection to customers by encouraging members selling accommodation-only to provide cover and those dealing with non-ABTA suppliers to have financial failure insurance.
"I will, of course, continue to campaign that airline click-throughs are treated as packages so as to ensure agents are not disadvantaged," he said.
