ABTA reveals conference line-up
ABTA has announced the line up for its second annual Travel Matters conference with the secretary of state for transport Philip Hammond and British Airways new chief executive Keith Williams among its key speakers.
Travel industry opinion leaders as well as key stakeholders and government representatives and bodies will be invited to the half-day event to be held on April 5 at the Millbank Media Centre, Westminster, London.
Economics editor of ITV News Daisy McAndrew will moderate discussions and debates on key issues and trends affecting the travel industry between a panel of speakers, who currently also include TUI UK and Ireland managing director Johan Lundgren, Carlson Wagonlit Executive Vice President of UK & Ireland Andrew Waller; chair of the transport select committee Louise Ellman, ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer and ABTA head of public affairs Luke Pollard
Tanzer said: “ABTA has been carrying the industry’s case to government on a number of important policy issues but there is still much to be discussed.
"We need to ensure that there is a long term strategy for aviation and airport capacity and that financial protection is reformed effectively.
"And of course we need to understand how travel and tourism will be impacted by the March Budget. I very much look forward to hearing the views and discussing these issues with this year’s speakers.”
Invited delegates will have the option to register a colleague on a first come, first served basis for £45. Further information is available at www.abta.com/travelmatters
